KATY & THE THIRD ROW

Katy Raucher is an American vocalist and songwriter, currently based in Tasmania, Australia. Performing with her band, The Third Row, Katy draws on influences such as pop, soul and jazz.

Katy has been involved in music her entire life and moved to Australia in early 2008 to study music at the UTAS Conservatorium of Music. After an extended period of medical leave, Katy began writing her own music, and in 2011 she formed her band The Third Row with classmates and close friends from the Conservatorium, which has been her vehicle for developing her material. The band members are: Blair Reardon on Double Bass; Tom Webster on Keys; Mark Schmalfuss on Guitar; Ritnarong Coomber on Drums.

“I wrote this song after my second trip back to America and having to defer my studies for a second time. Just a way of accepting where life takes you whether you like the way it’s going or not.”
